Welcome to Level 2 – Bring Your Characters to Life!
Level 1 taught you how to draw manga characters. Level 2 will teach you how to bring them to life!
In Level 2, you’ll build on the fundamentals you learned in Level 1 and explore more advanced illustration techniques, including expressive faces, dynamic action poses, detailed costumes, and visual storytelling.
By the end of the course, you’ll create a professional-style character design sheet, complete with multiple views, expressions, poses, and character details.

Course: Character Illustration – Level 2
Start Date: Saturday, February 6, 2027
End Date: Saturday, April 24, 2027
Class Time: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM (Los Angeles / Pacific Time) same time as previous class!
Schedule: Every Saturday
Duration: 12 live online lessons over 3 months
Format: Live online group lessons via Google Meet

What You’ll Learn
Advanced Character Illustration
Learn to draw characters from more expressive angles, create detailed manga eyes, and communicate complex emotions through facial expressions.
Dynamic Poses & Character Design
Explore perspective, action poses, body proportions, hairstyles, clothing materials, and movement to make your characters more engaging.
Manga Storytelling Techniques
Learn how to design character groups, create dynamic manga panels, develop four-panel manga series, and use lettering and visual effects effectively.
Final Project: Professional Character Design Sheet
Create and present a complete character design sheet featuring front, side, and back views, facial expressions, dynamic poses, and a written character profile.
